What changed in SeekGist, newest first.

SeekGist has not had its first public release yet. This page lists what changed while it was built, newest first. API changes only add things: new endpoints, new optional fields and new values (see API basics).

2026-10-14: security and docs

  • Docs search runs on SeekGist itself, on an index of these docs, in English and Arabic.
  • New guides: Shopping assistant, Catalog translation, A/B tests, Plans and billing, Security and your data, and the JavaScript widget.
  • Install steps for every platform, and real SDK guides for JavaScript, PHP and Python.
  • Sign-in: sessions end after 30 minutes without activity and 12 hours after sign-in; a new Password block in Settings (POST /v1/auth/password/change); passwords on a list of 100,000 common leaked passwords are refused.
  • /v1/health?deep=true also checks the search engine.
  • Store connectors: fallback events now record how long SeekGist kept the page waiting (meta.wait_ms).
  • SearchRequest.ai documents all three values: auto (only when it helps), on (every query), off (never).

2026-10-13: assistant, translation, A/B tests, store apps

  • Shopping assistant: POST /v1/assistant/chat (JSON or a stream), FAQ and policy pages, conversations, hand over to a person, and a chat button in the widget (GET /v1/assistant/widget).
  • Catalog translation: backfill and watch jobs, review queue with diffs, glossary, write-back to stores, exports, and the translation.batch_ready webhook.
  • A/B tests with a sequential test that stays valid when you look often, sample-size guidance and a traffic split check.
  • Recommendations: GET /v1/recommend (similar, also viewed, trending, recently viewed).
  • Search: ai=auto runs the AI rewrite only when it helps; the laptop one-way rule no longer pulls laptop bags; حامل شاشة means a monitor stand; "cheap" re-orders the best matches by price.
  • Store apps for Shopify, Salla and Zid, tested against local copies of their APIs.
  • SDKs for JavaScript, PHP and Python, generated from the OpenAPI file.
  • Imports can repeat hourly or daily; webhooks catalog.import_finished and catalog.sync_failed.
  • Billing emails for a recovered payment and a cancelled subscription; sign-up from a team invite.
  • The public status page reads live data from GET /v1/status.

2026-10-13: first working version

  • Search API v1: /v1/search, /v1/suggest (never billed), clicks and events, the Arabic layer (spelling forms, units, light stemming, dialect, Arabizi, typos) and the query parser (prices, use cases).
  • Catalog API with batches of 1,000 and safe retries (Idempotency-Key), imports, and jobs.
  • Synonyms, rules, analytics, webhooks, API keys with scopes, team, plans and usage.
  • Connectors for OpenCart 2.x/3.x/4.x, WooCommerce and Magento 2, each with a 300 ms fallback to the store's own search.
  • Dashboard, landing page, these docs, legal templates and the API reference.
